What if I told you that by removing a secret ingredient for your life – you could drastically improve your life??

What if it were donuts?  Gasp!  Actually, it’s NOT donuts themselves… although… it could be.  That would be a shame.

Nope.  I haven’t gone off the deep end…  well, maybe I have.  But I’m very SERIOUS.

If I had a dollar for every person who tells me they, or someone they know/love, is dealing with:

RA (rheumatoid arthritis), cancer,  lupus, fibromyalgia, MS, lactose intolerance, thyroid issues, diabetes, ADHD, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, neuropathy issues, or a slew of unexplained symptoms including (but NOT limited to):

– bruising easily

– depression/anxiety

– fatigue

– growth delay

– hair loss

– itchy skin (dermatitis herpetiformis, although eczema and psoriasis are signs too)

– missed menstrual periods/odd cycles

– mouth ulcers

– muscles cramps and joint pain

– nose bleeds

– seizures

– numbness in hands or feet

– defects in tooth enamel/gum recession

– foul-smelling stools or gas

– irritable and fussy behavior

MAYBE even things that have driven hosts of tests that have harvested NO answers (like ME!)… (read THIS!)

Gluten Ataxia is where things were going with my celiac disease.  I felt like I was having a stroke, or I was dying, and it was pretty scary.  Something was sucking the life out of me and my IBS was suddenly more than I could control – like I had thought when I was younger.  That was the major red flag to me, that SOMETHING was very wrong and things were changing quickly.  Within a months time my nails went brittle again, my hair was falling out in handfuls, my joints were hurting, I was swelling and my mouth was always dry – despite drinking TONS of water.  Let me say – I eat extremely healthy, exercise… and these things were NOT normal for me.  My CBC said I was healthy…  but I knew something wasn’t right.

If YOU or someone you know is struggling too – THIS should be a red flag for you also.  Not that it automatically means you have celiac disease… but rather, that GLUTEN, could be poisoning your body and making a long list of auto-immune diseases and health symptoms much worse.

For some people, they build up a resistance to it, in their body.  For other people, they build up antibodies against it and their body tries to fight it… while it destroys their intestines, kills their body’s ability to absorb vitamins and nutrients {from even the good foods} and it can cause their mind to stop working right… often times – silently.  While waxing and waning – people tell themselves they’re “better” when they’re only waiting on the NEXT episode to hit… telling themselves – “It’s not that bad, I just have some digestive issues… some memory issues… some anxiety issues… some swelling…some pain… vision issues”  The list could go on forever.

This secret ingredient – was not meant to be consumed… and because it is used SO much (so much meaning, you probably don’t have a clue how much, because I sure didn’t!) – the issues are showing up more and more.

Would you ingest poison, rub it all over your body, spray it around your head several times a day?  Would you put it on your lips?  Wash with it in the shower?  Ingest it in vitamins, and medications?

I hope not.

Yet a majority of people do.  Every day.

I was in that majority.

It’s not a wonder why this is causing SO many health issues…. and the fact that it can be tied to SO many neuropathy issues, rashes and digestive issues (after all, there are 300 symptoms) – SHOULD be a huge indicator that it really isn’t so healthy to consume.

EVER.

The frustrating thing, to me, is that after people are diagnosed – many times only 8% feel better after being on the diet… because there are so many cross contaminants and HIDDEN places gluten is hiding out.  (For me – my cross contaminates are coffee and roasted nuts, and obviously milk protein hidden in many foods)  But sometimes, cutting out SO many things can really leave a person feeling deprived, frustrated and then sometimes they make poor decisions because they’re worn out – without a concrete answer – if it’s gluten intolerance, or celiac disease – or tied to gluten at all.

The way I understand it is – you can have gluten intolerance, and not have any hereditary markers for celiac disease.  However, some people may have those markers, and test negative to celiac – even though ALL OTHER symptoms point that way.  It’s because they don’t have a fool-proof test… and this disease is broad.  SO, people continue to needlessly suffer.  The difference in CONCERN of “intolerance” vs. the autoimmune disease of celiac – is future health… intolerance won’t kill you, it will just make you SUPER uncomfortable.  Celiac disease can kill you and cause neuropathy issues with life-long effects.  I don’t know HOW many books I read though, that have stated – people will test negative for YEARS to celiac disease… only to end up being in the 27% who are diagnosed WHEN they have a cancer, or when they’re dying.

SAD.

** Personally, I went and ordered a lab test kit from Enterolab so I could have the information I wanted about my DNA – and genetic markers.  I could have gone through my Dr – but after a month of waiting and the chaotic past 6 months, I just took it upon myself to order the $150 test.  Most people, who go off gluten, are like me, they’re pushing for those answers – but they’re so hard to get it in writing… even though your body says: YES!!! You finally “get” me!

I don’t really need it in writing for myself, I know the answer (as the children’s rashes clearing up, after removing gluten, did that)!  I was told not to have guilt about it all – but I do still have a little.  More prayer is needed!  Thankfulness still abounds.

  1. Thanks so much for the information. I had no idea there was a link to RA. I’m fighting with myself about all this. Do I take the leap and cut out gluten or not….I guess I’m not out much to try…ugh…it’s just a lot to take in…praying. I’ll continue to pray for you as well :)I. ((Hugs))
