The Power is God’s Grace

Couscous is a great option - it cooks up much faster than whole wheat rice, and is very filling!

There are undoubtably going to be people in your life, who you love… who you’ll realize – you can’t change.

As you’re growing, and learning more about what God wants for you… He’s changing you.  Inside out.  You’re going to want that same feeling of health, energy and peace for those people closest to you.

Not because you want someone to be a certain size, or wear certain clothes… it’s MUCH deeper than that.

You want them to FEEL good, or at least better.  You want their organs to have less stress, you want them to be well…. because you love them.  You care for them.  It’s less about a perfect BMI… although those standards are there for a reason,  (We all need SOME guidelines!) and more about what they are or are not putting in.  Ice cream?  Donuts?  Not enough salads?  Too many carbs?  Too much alcohol?  Cigarettes?  All of it affects our health.

You MAY have already experienced something like this…

The excuses on why making healthy food choices won’t work for them. Why it doesn’t matter…  The anger flaring up about how our weight doesn’t matter. How it’s “fine for you” but they simply don’t desire to change…  Maybe they tell you it’s not “worth it” to them.

Well that’s not Truth, and you know it.  THEY actually know it too.  They might just be bitter, and frustrated.  You may bite a hole in your tongue as they rant on and on.

It’s really tough sometimes to swallow.  You’d hope the people you love, desire to live a long healthy life – or as healthy as possible while on earth.  You want them to be educated to conviction for the right reasons.

If only it were that easy, right?  To spread God’s transforming power yourself….

Oh believe me – I’ve wished I had a wand before.  But that wouldn’t be good either…

That would make us….  Well – God.

And we aren’t God.

He has His reasons, and His timing for His purposes.  They might be different from ours… but we have limited understanding.

Keep in mind, we are being transformed also – everyday.  We can strive to be the best example for His glory that we can be.  We can share our successes with those who ask.  We can model to our families being healthy for Him…  but in the end:

God transforms.

Don’t get discouraged when some people don’t embrace your healthy lifestyle.  After all, you’re not living for them.  You also can’t expect them to live to please you.

You want MORE for them.  Above all else, you want them to live for God’s glory.

Keep doing what you’re doing, and pray for them.  God does hear you and He’s using you more than you’ll ever know.  His grace is the only power to lasting change.

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I,

but the grace of God that was with me.”  – 1 Corinthians 15:10
